What is the Æther?
In ancient and medieval science, Aether was believed to be the “quintessence”—the pure substance that filled the universe beyond the terrestrial sphere. It was thought to be the medium through which light travels, an unseen force that shaped the cosmos and gave form to the celestial realm.
In Greek mythology, Aether was more than an element; he was a primordial deity—the personification of the upper sky and the radiant light that filled it. Born from Erebus (Darkness) and Nyx (Night), Aether embodied the divine air the gods breathed, a realm untouched by the shadows below. Alongside his sister Hemera (Day), he illuminated the heavens, bringing light to existence.
Æther represents the essence of creation and the space where vision takes form. It is the bridge between the known and the infinite—the very spirit of artistic exploration.
